The forecast view presents several illustrative futures. The scenario view narrows the focus to two scenes: the current layout carried forward, and an intervention on the older townhouse parcels. Both use the same location and the same future year.
Keep the comparison consistent
The street network, clocktower, shops, and recently completed apartment building stay in place. The intervention replaces the townhouse row with a larger residential building. Highlighting the affected parcel makes that change visible without asking viewers to compare every window and roof.
This consistency is central to the workflow. If the camera, scale, or surrounding buildings change between scenes, it becomes difficult to separate the proposal from the presentation. The transition preserves those reference points.
Define the baseline
In the illustration, the baseline keeps the 2026 layout. That makes the visual comparison easy to follow. For an actual planning study, a baseline would also need to account for committed projects and other changes expected without the proposed intervention.
A useful project brief should therefore specify the geography, horizon, and assumptions shared by both scenarios. It should also identify the outcomes the team wants to examine, such as housing capacity, access to services, or infrastructure requirements.
The image establishes the physical proposal. It does not resolve those outcomes on its own. They require evidence appropriate to the question and, where relevant, local knowledge about how the place is used.
Connect the view to your analysis
Use the two scenes to establish what is changing before discussing its effects. The parcel outline gives reviewers a common reference, and the shared layout keeps the surrounding neighborhood in view.
